The song is one of those songs that took a looooong time to finish, like many years. It was started way back when I was workng on new music for an album for another artist and was writing a whole bunch of songs with singer/songwriter Eric Lumiere from Los Angeles. We started over a dozen or so songs and there was this one sketch of a song we started that I could never let go of and never fully left my brain. The song was not used for the album we were working on and it stayed stuck in my computer for years. I picked it up a few times over the years and tried to push it along, but it never really took full flight. Fast-forward to last year when Destined For Mars started becoming a kind of a real thing (and by that I mean Ryan and I were working every week on new music, some original ideas and some were ideas that had previosuluy been stuck in the computer. So "Hold On" got a big gust of fresh air and starte to take flgiht. Ryan and I had most of the music pretty much done when we started working with Teressa and she brought such amazing energy and emotion to the vocal that really gave it that final touch to make it all that I ever dreamed it could be. Even now, after having listened to it literally countless times, I still feel all the emotions.
